Nerdleveltech

We’re looking for a Senior Elixir Fullstack Engineer to join our empowered product team, building simple, elegant software from complex requirements.

This is real product work – meaningful, fast-paced, and focused on impact.

We’re a small, hands‑on team that owns a single product end to end.

Start date: June 1st, 2026 or July 1, 2026.

Tasks

  • Build and maintain a high-quality, maintainable codebase written in Elixir with Phoenix, LiveView, TailwindCSS and daisyUI.
  • We are building the product in small iterations, we prototype early and often, everyone is encouraged to move forward on their own accord.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other Engineers to find smart solutions that balance speed, quality, and simplicity.
  • Shape our architecture for reliability, scalability, and developer happiness – we’re building a long‑term platform here.
  • Build a clean, maintainable and tested codebase.
  • Take ownership of privacy and security aspects from the start – encryption, data separation, and GDPR compliance are part of the product, not an afterthought.
  • Contribute ideas to improve our development process, stack, and team culture.

Requirements

  • You have several years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer, ideally with Elixir or another Ruby.
  • You care about code quality, but not for its own sake – you balance pragmatism with craftsmanship.
  • You love working in small, empowered teams where you can shape not just the product but also how it’s built.
  • You come with a product mindset: if something’s unclear, you explore it instead of waiting for perfect specs.
  • You understand the basics of GDPR and secure software design and know why that matters.
  • You’re curious, reflective, and enjoy learning – including from failed experiments.
  • Professional-level English is required; German is a plus.
  • You can work remote, but hybrid in Berlin would be ideal – that’s where our product and design team sits.

Nice to have (but not required):

  • Experience with handling sensitive data, ideally health-related data.
  • Solid understanding of encryption, key management, and data privacy.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and hosting environments.
  • Familiar with Shape Up as an outcome-driven, autonomy-based approach for agile software development.

Benefits

  • A truly empowered product team with freedom to make real decisions.
  • A product that’s already live, growing fast, and makes a real difference in people’s lives.
  • Ownership and impact from day one – your code will directly improve how social care works in Germany.
  • Short decision paths, intense focus, and a healthy pace (we don’t do chaos).
  • Mentorship and peer exchange from a highly experienced Elixir developer.
  • Flexible hours, hybrid work options, and a trusting culture with open feedback.
  • A motivated, kind team that supports each other and celebrates wins.
  • Competitive pay, 29+1 days of vacation (including a “sport day”), and an annual learning budget (€1,000) for your own growth.
  • The position is also open to part‑time (80%) arrangements.
